A good friend of mine was attending Kimono lessons at the Hakubi Kimono School in Tokyo. I went to a demonstration at the school; Here we see two teachers dressing a woman as royalty would be dressed. It’s a kimono with twelve layers. I’ve dubbed it ‘Twelve Layers O’ Fun’..

The lighting was strange/futuristic and the fluid/freaky motions of Asimo made this an intriguing clip; still one of my personal favorites. Shot at one of the Robodex Expos in Yokohama, Japan.

On my way to another shoot in Yoyogi Park, I stumbled upon the Digiko Girls ‘performing’ outside Hachiko exit in Shibuya.

The sun glistened off their shiny black boots as they squeeked out their latest tune..

No one seemed to mind they couldn’t sing since they provided colorful energy on an otherwise monotonous day.

Two Japanese girls play frisbee on a lazy afternoon.. then, from a bionic stroke of luck, they end up fighting, wrestling, and shooting each other with squirt guns.. This is Japan. ;)

We had a lot of fun shooting this clip. Rented a Cube, bought a six-pack, and played around with ideas..

The physical size of the video is really small; unfortunately, my external drive crashed before exporting back to tape, so I lost everything. All I had left is what you see; a lo-fi export for web encoding… I’ve moved on..
