Vidicle: A Publisher in the Shadows

Soapland!Something I just started working on. I call them ‘Vidicles’; video previews of written articles.

Since the YouTube ‘revolution’ has expanded the definition of ‘online video’ - (talking heads pointlessly babbling in front of a camera? This is entertainment?) I thought; ‘why not make videos of someone reading well written, captivating articles’? In this case, that ’someone’ is my computer, and the ‘well written article’ is from Captain Japan.

Hiroharu Kimura dresses in black: sport jacket, shoes, socks, slacks, and gold-rimmed sunglasses. Aside from his blue dress shirt, his attire follows the vampire bat trademark used for his sex-trade publication Manzoku, meaning satisfaction.

Paradise TV Strives for Stupidity, Sex (article)

Stupidity!“Paradise is totally different from other adult video channels,” explains manager of international sales, Kenichiro Suzuki, from Paradise headquarters in a commercial block of Tokyo’s Shinjuku Ward. “We have many more stupid shows. They (standard porn channels) sometimes have them. But we concentrate on making them.”

The chaos continues: flapping newspapers flutter past (with one momentarily clinging to her forehead); snow begins falling; and more clothing vanishes. In the end, she is covered in a dusting of white flakes and a grin…

Conserve! In a white smock and clutching a stack of notes, Nobutaka Takahashi stares down at the internal skeleton model of Nissan’s X-Trail fuel cell vehicle (FCV) on display at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show.

Since the industrial revolution spawned only the internal combustion engine and not a provision for a $70-a-barrel rate for oil, alternative fuel vehicles are the talk of this year’s show. For Takahashi, a member of Nissan’s research and development team, this is his baby.
