Sony SDR-4X Dancers
This video gives you a good idea of the Sony robot’s size. They’re not big; about the size of a portly reeses monkey. Five robots dance on stage, do the hula, and shuffle their feet. I think the best shots are of the assistants placing them on stage then turning them on.
Robot Evolution
A little artsy flick showing my interpretation of how robots would’ve ‘evolved’; reptilian, seated and upright, then bipedal. Although I find it a tad cheesy now, the video has been popular over time. There are some good shots of the serpant robot, with it’s small spinning drive train and ability to roll over and climb obstacles.
Japanese Cat Fighting Girls
Two cosplay Japanese girls fight on stage at an ‘erotic’ show in Shibuya. This event was a ‘tame’ show that evening; The nightmares finally stopped a few months ago.. Music by Jay Berlinsky.
Epson Mini Robot Stage Show
Filmed at one of the robot expos in Yokohama; Robodex Robot Expo. These little robots from Epson are supposedly able to navigate themselves, are sensitive to light, and can be programmed to dance in a group. This video demonstrates their abilities and starts with a cute little choreographed dancing stage show..
Tokyo Motor Show 2003: Motor Queens
I always thought it was strange, in an interesting sort of way, that the events girls at the Tokyo Motor Shows would attempt to give each photographer a few seconds of attention; showing all their ranges of expressions in a short period of time; sultry, innocent, aggressive, and demure all in five seconds. I’m sure in photos it looks fine, but on video and in person, it always looked a little strange; like the girls suffer from mild turrets or multiple personality disorders..
Tokyo Motor Show 2003: Honda Kiwami
A video of the Honda Kiwami concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2003. A simple clip that, quite possibly, only car enthusiasts can appreciate, but has some rave music and Buddhist chanting that non-enthusiasts can chant along with.. Nam yo ho ren gei kyoo.. Nam yo ho ren gei kyoo… Nam…
